Elsa’s academic journey began with the attainment of a Bachelor of Health Sciences (Physiotherapy) from the prestigious University of Sydney, followed by a MAsters  of Clinical Physiotherapy (Manipulative Therapy) at Curtin University.

Venturing into the realm of clinical practice, Elsa brought forth over 14 years of rich experience gleaned from her tenure at Changi General Hospital (CGH). Within CGH’s diverse medical landscape encompassing cardiology, orthopaedics, neurology, geriatrics, and the musculoskeletal domain, Elsa’s professional odyssey flourished. With a keen focus on musculoskeletal ailments, sports injuries, and post-operative rehabilitation, she honed her craft to provide nuanced care for patients grappling with acute and chronic pain alike. Notably, Elsa spearheaded the Outpatient Musculoskeletal Department, and her collaboration with the Emergency Department (ED) Physiotherapy team underscored her commitment to swift and effective pain management and ensuring patients received the best quality care. .

Driven by a profound dedication to advancing patient care, Elsa embarked on a transformative journey, securing the esteemed Health Manpower Development Plan (HMDP) fellowship, which propelled her to Scotland for an immersive exchange programme. Armed with newfound insights, she championed a holistic approach to rehabilitation, fostering collaboration among healthcare professionals for optimal patient outcomes.

Elsa’s therapeutic arsenal is fortified with accreditation in DMA Clinical Pilates, which she seamlessly integrates with manual therapy, bespoke exercises, and patient education to deliver evidence-based interventions.

Beyond her clinical endeavours, Elsa’s passion for nurturing the next generation of physiotherapists shines through her role as an adjunct lecturer at the Faculty of Health and Social Sciences, Singapore Institute of Technology. Committed to preventive healthcare, she leverages her expertise to disseminate knowledge through various media platforms, championing ergonomic practices and promoting holistic wellness.

In her personal pursuits, Elsa finds solace in the embrace of her family, relishing outdoor adventures with her children. A globetrotter at heart, she savours the opportunity to immerse herself in diverse cultures, forging connections that enrich her professional and personal ethos.
