Bryan Lane
PRINCIPAL OSTEOPATH
American born UK registered Osteopath, Bryan Michael Lane began his career in patient centred healthcare in 1992 as a US Army Combat Medic, integrated a holistic approach to recovery at The Omega Institute for Holistic Studies in New York and furthered with a Masters Degree in Osteopathic Medicine from the University of Surrey. Professional post graduate certification includes Medical Acupuncture from the British Medical Acupuncture Society, the Sutherland Cranial College of Osteopathy, The BodyTalk System, MindScape and ITEC sports sciences. Further post graduate studies include modern applications of traditional approaches to wellness such as Acupuncture, Traditional Chinese Medicine and Vedic medicine, with a keen interest in mindfulness/meditation, developed over 30 years of personal practice. Teaching experience includes mindfulness, yoga and at university level, Osteopathy, Theatre, and Dance performance.
Professionally, Bryan has spent 7 years based in London‘s Harley Street district and 6 years in Singapore as an Osteopath and Certified Bodytalk Practitioner. In London he organised yoga and wellness retreats across Europe to help his patients recover from complex musculoskeletal injuries and improve their overall wellbeing. His rehabilitation approach often integrates breathing, mindfulness and mental visualisation to improve recovery, performance and confidence.
Bryan’s specific interest is in treating musculoskeletal dysfunction in recurrent injuries, headaches, temporomandibular disorders as well as pregnancy related concerns. His experience as a father allows him to understand the gentle care necessary when working with young children as well as new moms and babies, who may be struggling with feeding and wind. His continuous passion for yoga recently took him to India for Jivamukti Yoga training and Bryan is a certified Jivamukti, hatha and vinyasa yoga instructor. His training in yoga, martial arts, dance, ballet and pilates gives him a valuable insight into why injuries occur and how to manage recurrent injuries that keep occurring over and over again.
When not at work, in the mornings and early evenings you’ll find Bryan at either the gym or trying to invert in yoga. In the late evenings you’ll find him gazing at the stars for hours on end indulging in his love of astronomy from his time at NASA. In between, you’ll find him seeking out the best spicy food and the worst Dad jokes he can find.
