Mistika Ismail

PHYSIOTHERAPIST

Mistika graduated with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy from the Singapore Institute of Technology – Trinity College Dublin (SIT-TCD) and has been a member of the Allied Health Professions Council (AHPC) for the past eight years.

From a young age, Mistika was always passionate about healthcare. She began her career as a physiotherapist at Changi General Hospital, gaining considerable experience during her time there. This includes working with patients presenting with both acute and chronic conditions across various physiotherapy disciplines, including cardiopulmonary, geriatric, intensive care, orthopaedics, and sports medicine. This experience has empowered her to build a strong foundational knowledge of different medical conditions, allowing her to treat individuals with a personalised and holistic approach.

Mistika’s keen interest in sports and musculoskeletal physiotherapy was the catalyst for her transition into the private sector. She holds certifications in Level 1, 2, and 3 GEMt Dry Needling as well as ISSA Basic Sports Massage. Additionally, she is Level 2 Immediate Care in Rugby certified under the World Rugby Union. This qualification has provided her with hands-on experience in pitch-side injury management at various rugby events, including the HSBC World Rugby 7s and the Singapore Rugby Union (SRU) National League. Mistika has also served as the lead physiotherapist for Singapore’s Women’s Ultimate Frisbee Team since 2022, accompanying them on international campaigns in countries such as the USA, the Philippines, and Australia.

As a competitive Olympic weightlifter, Mistika aims to challenge stereotypes surrounding strength training while also promoting the sport to the masses. She firmly believes that longevity is paramount and emphasises the importance of adopting healthy habits in all areas of life, both inside and outside the gym. Her rehabilitation approach involves conducting thorough assessments to identify the root cause of injuries, followed by treatment using a combination of passive and active modalities to achieve the best possible clinical outcomes.

Mistika believes in creating balance between work and life. When she isn’t helping patients or training for her next weightlifting competition, you can find her sipping a cup of coffee in a nearby café or taking a short beach getaway.
