ROWENA CHANCE
SENIOR PHYSIOTHERAPIST
Rowena brings over 35 years of extensive clinical experience across a wide range of physiotherapy specialities. Trained in the UK, she gained foundational experience in government hospitals before specialising in musculoskeletal conditions. Her career includes working in the outpatient departments of busy general hospitals and a rehabilitation clinic in Switzerland, where she refined her exercise rehabilitation skills alongside physiotherapists trained across Europe.
For the past 30 years, Rowena has practised in Asia, including Hong Kong, Macau, and Singapore. She has worked with elite athletes, including premier league rugby players, providing pitch-side support at the IRB International Hong Kong 7’s tournament for 20 years and touring with the Hong Kong Women’s Rugby 15’s squad. She also treated professional tennis players during the annual WTA competitions in Hong Kong.
Rowena is a certified Clinical Pilates practitioner, incorporating this method into her practice for over 25 years. In Hong Kong, she taught Pilates to modern dance students at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts and worked with dancers from the Hong Kong Ballet. During her time in Macau, she established her own practice and treated performers from Cirque du Soleil’s permanent show.
Since moving to Singapore 15 years ago, Rowena has expanded her expertise into women’s health, focusing on supporting women during the childbearing years, through menopause, and in managing osteoporosis. She strongly believes in a holistic approach to care, recognising the interconnectedness of body systems. With a solid foundation in treating spinal conditions, soft tissue disorders, body mechanics issues, and chronic pain, Rowena is equally adept at managing complex conditions and acute sports injuries.
Having undergone multiple knee surgeries, including ACL and meniscus repair, Rowena brings personal empathy and insight into rehabilitating knee-related issues.
Outside of work, Rowena enjoys road cycling, yoga, and skiing. She has completed five half-marathons and has a working knowledge of French.
